![]() Here's an even cheaper one without the charging adapter (also, its price is normally $14.99, not $19.99), but remember, all this stuff will drain your battery. This is the one I have which has the additional bonus of allowing you to charge it while you use it, but its a pretty long and hefty cable so I'd only suggest it if you plan on carrying it in a bag with a bluetooth m+k/ controller Just make sure to specifically look for "Samsung Dex" compatible USB C to HDMI cable as I'm not sure if they all work. The benefits of using a PC connection are mainly that you can use its m+k, copy/paste text, or drag files between the PC to Dex but the HDMI universally works best. Wireless - Worst input delay, but still fine for media.USB 2.0 - Small Input delay, but fine for general media/ turn-based gaming. If you want to connect directly to a PC instead of a monitor, your best bet is to get a USB 3.0 (or above) data cable which will pretty much eliminate any noticeable delay so long as the computer your using it with also has a 3.0+ port which pretty much any computer able to run Windows 10 will have. When you use a wireless connection, there's a small, but noticeable, input delay and when you use a USB C 2.0 data cable (the most common kind sold), the delay improves quite a bit, but it's still not great for gaming. You can also do it wirelessly with a PC as long as both devices are on the same wifi but there's some caveats. Yeah, you can either use a USB-C to HDMI for anything with an HDMI input (Monitors, tvs, etc), or you can use a USB-C data cable with a Windows 10 PC. ![]() I don't think its "pros" outweigh a laptop's by much, but it's a perfect alternative for people who like to travel light while still being able to utilize a laptop's convenience. If that doesn't convince you that its worth using, that's absolutely fine. Anyone who's had to bike or walk long distances knows how much of a pain it can be carrying a heavy-loaded backpack around for miles, so it's a bit of a blessing to lessen that The additional bonus (that doesn't apply so much to me) is that a phone and cable easily fit in your pocket (and at worst, you may want a foldable bluetooth keyboard and mouse which weigh next to nothing and fit anywhere), so you will always have access to all the files, software, and hardware you need regardless of where you are. games, or have a media center on me, I can just plug my phone in directly to any tv, monitor, or computer and have a pretty great "computer" anywhere without much hassle. If I'm at a relatives house for a week or so and need to work on a big project, emulate some ps2/gamecube/etc. I'm not an avid user by any means, but in my case, I have very little use for owning a laptop (especially not for gaming or anything) BECAUSE I have a dedicated computer at home, and my Samsung S10 wipes the floor compared to any laptop under $500, so it saves me money to use it in those rare moments when I want/need a desktop space or larger display. To put it in simple terms: portability, accessibility, and convenience.
